THINKING AHEAD COLLEGE PREPARATORY PROGRAM

Thinking Ahead College Preparatory Program (TACPP) provides college bound juniors and seniors with college preparation know-how, through assistance devoted to college entrance essay writing, SAT/ACT test preparation, and overall one-to-one attention on college application process and career development. We achieve our mission through sub-programs such as: Operation Reach One (community service), Teens Training for a Better Future Workshops (career and professional development), TACPP Awards and Scholarship Program (scholastic achievement), and REACH OUT Alumni Network (social development).

Our students range in age from 14-17 years old, with over 90% of our students living in the inner cities of Liberty City and the Little Haiti community of Miami, Florida. Through our programs, our students have beaten the statistics year after year.

The goals of the program are:

  • To graduate over 100% of our students, with a 100% of our students applying to a vocational, college, or university of their choice.

  • Establish Internships and co-op opportunities with local businesses for participants in our program.

  • Pair each student with a mentor in their respective major.

  • Prepare students for leadership roles in the collegiate environment through leadership conference opportunities.

  • Certify our students in various business software systems and college prep business classes.

  • Train students to become peer workshop facilitators in financial literacy topics.

  • Work with a local credit union or bank to ensure that each student in our program has a checking and savings account open.

  • Expose students to local colleges and universities throughout the United States - specifically schools throughout the state of Florida.

  • Engage students in meaningful and impactful volunteer work throughout their local community.

  • Nurture and develop global leaders for the next generation
